Marcello Mogetta is Associate Professor and Department Chair of Classics, Archaeology and Religion at University of Missouri. His research examines Roman architecture, urban development, and cultural exchange in ancient Italy through archaeological fieldwork and digital methods.
He directs excavations at Gabii (near Rome) and Pompeii's Sanctuary of Venus, funded by NEH, Loeb Foundation, and AIA Cotsen grants. Publications include award-winning studies on concrete technology and urban transformation.
His teaching covers Roman art, archaeological methods, and ancient topography. Current projects employ 3D modeling to analyze ceramic artifacts and reconstruct ancient building techniques.
