Angela Commito is a Senior Lecturer in Classical Archaeology at Union College's Classics Department. Her research focuses on ancient water management, urban resilience, and rural-urban dynamics in the Graeco-Roman world. She directs archaeological projects in Turkey and Georgia, including the Notion Archaeological Research Project.

Research explores ancient cisterns, aqueducts, and social responses to crisis. Recent work examines the late antique collapse of Asia Minor cities and resilience strategies in Greco-Roman communities. Publications include studies on Aphrodisias' countryside and Notion's urban biography.
Recent grants: 2021 SCS Classics Everywhere Grant, 2018 NEH Collaborative Research Grant (Notion excavations). Awards include Loeb Classical Library Fellowship.
Labs/Teams: Associate Director of Notion Archaeological Research Project, collaborating on Vani (Georgia) and Labraunda (Turkey) excavations. Teaches courses on Greek/Roman archaeology, environmental history, and classical mythology.
