Dr. Manya Pagiavla serves as a Lecturer in History of Renaissance Art at the Department for Continuing Education, University of Oxford, a position held since 2015. Previously, she taught at the Victoria & Albert Museum, Christie's Education, and the University of Cambridge (Department of Architecture and Institute of Continuing Education), including a Postdoctoral Associate role at Clare Hall (2012-2013).
Her academic credentials include a BA (Distinction), MA (Distinction), and PhD in art and architectural history from the University of Essex (2006).

Specializing in Renaissance/Baroque intellectual history, Dr. Pagiavla investigates artists' library inventories and marginalia, with seminal work on El Greco and Leonardo da Vinci. Her research examines cross-cultural artistic influences, particularly Greco-Byzantine and Northern European impacts on Italian/Spanish art, and Classical Revival philosophies (Neo-Aristotelianism/Neo-Platonism). Teaching spans Early Renaissance to 19th-century art, including Spanish/Dutch Golden Ages and British/French architecture.

Research is supported by a 2017 A.G. Leventis Foundation grant for ongoing study of Leonardo and El Greco's library inventories. Dr. Pagiavla actively contributes to educational outreach through art history mentoring for sixth form and further education students.
