Dr. Manon Simon is a Lecturer in Law at the University of Tasmania’s Faculty of Law, specializing in the governance of climate intervention technologies. She holds a PhD from the University of Tasmania (2019–2022), an LL.M. from the University of Oregon (2014–2015), and a Bachelor’s from the University of Poitiers (2012–2014). Her research focuses on transferring lessons from weather modification governance to solar radiation management (SRM) frameworks. She currently serves as an ARC Research Fellow (2022–2025) and leads projects like the ARC Discovery Project on SRM governance.

- Climate policy and legal frameworks for geoengineering
- International regulations for weather modification
- Adaptive governance for emerging environmental technologies
- Transboundary implications of climate intervention
Grants & Collaborations: She co-leads the $431k ARC-funded project on marine carbon removal legal frameworks (2025–2027) and collaborates with Ehime University (Japan) on extreme weather governance. Teaching includes courses like International Law and Legal Reasoning.
