Mandy Shircore

Mandy Shircore is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Faculty of Business, Law and Arts, Southern Cross University (SCU). She joined SCU Law in 2022 and holds governance roles, including board membership of MyCommunity Legal Inc. Her academic background includes roles as Director of Pro Bono Centre (UQ), Head of Law (JCU), and Acting Associate Dean Learning and Teaching.

Education: BLaw (Monash University), BSc (Monash University), MLaw (Queensland University of Technology).

Research Focus: Torts law (especially negligence and public authorities' duty of care), health law, and legal education. She has explored police accountability through negligence frameworks. Her work emphasizes clinical legal education and enhancing access to justice.

Awards: Recognized for teaching excellence with multiple accolades, including WLAQ Inspo List (2019–2021) and Southern Cross University's 2023/2024 awards. Recipient of the Toni Dick Memorial Prize for community service.

Teaching & Governance: Teaches Torts Law and has over 30 years of community legal sector involvement as a solicitor, clinical educator, and committee member. Current governance roles include board membership of MyCommunity Legal Inc.
