Harriet Payter

Harriet Payter is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Worcester, joining in 2023. Previously, she held roles as a Teaching Fellow at the University of Law in London and Birmingham. She combines 15 years of legal teaching experience with a background in clinical negligence litigation. Her expertise spans Civil and Criminal Litigation, Medical Law, Personal Injury Practice, Tort, Commercial Law, and Advocacy.

Qualifications include an LLB from the University of Bristol, a Legal Practice Course from De Montfort University, and status as a non-practising solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy since 2010.

Harriet has led modules in Civil Litigation, Medical Negligence, and Advocacy at the University of Law, including training students from Magic Circle law firms. She designs law courses, oversees pro bono initiatives like the Personal Injury Law Clinic, and advocates for inclusive legal education through widening participation programs.
