Mandy DeFilippo

Mandy DeFilippo serves as the Chief Executive Officer, US and Americas, at Standard Chartered Bank since March 2025. Previously, she held senior roles at Citadel Securities (Managing Director & COO of Legal & Compliance, Risk and Operations) and Morgan Stanley (Managing Director roles including Global Head of Business Unit Risk Management for Fixed Income & Commodities Division and Chief Risk Officer for GCM International). She joined Morgan Stanley in 2007 and spent 15 years there in various global roles.

Academically, she was the Klinsky Professor of Leadership and Progress at Harvard Law School (2019-2020) and has returned as a Lecturer on Law. She teaches courses like 'Leading from the Middle' (Spring 2026). Her research interests focus on Financial Institutions, Leadership in Legal Professions, and Ethics.

She was Chair of the International Capital Markets Association (ICMA) from 2018–2023, the first woman in the role. Notable recognitions include being named a Top 100 Influential Woman in European Finance (2019) and featured in Euromoney’s 50th-anniversary series on capital markets (2019).

Education: B.A. in English & Political Science from Columbia University (1997), J.D. from Harvard Law School (2000). Prior to banking, she practiced corporate and securities law at Allen & Overy LLP in London. Currently based in New York.
