Malin Tistad is an Associate Professor in Care Sciences and Senior Lecturer in Medical Sciences at Dalarna University's School of Health and Welfare, Department of Medical Sciences. She is also affiliated with Karolinska Institutet's Department of Neurobiology, Health Sciences and Society. Tistad holds a PhD in Medical Sciences from Karolinska Institutet (2012), focusing on stroke-related healthcare needs. Her research emphasizes implementation science, particularly in healthcare practices for stroke and acquired brain injury patients. She leads projects evaluating nurse-led care models and scoping reviews on implementation facilitators. Tistad teaches implementation science and supervises doctoral students at both institutions.
Her research spans implementation strategies for person-centered care, stroke rehabilitation, and digital health tools. Collaborations include Region Dalarna, Örebro, and Värmland. She co-leads the 'Ihop' project on participation and belonging for brain injury patients. Over 50 publications reflect her work in healthcare policy, COPD management, and qualitative studies on patient experiences.
Key areas include co-designing care transitions, analyzing eHealth tool usage, and exploring gout patients' lived experiences. Her grants involve cost analyses of person-centered care and process evaluations of stroke interventions. She actively participates in multidisciplinary teams, bridging academic research with clinical practice improvements.
