Malin Idar Wallin is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Linköping University's Faculty of Medicine, affiliated with both the Department of Health, Medicine and Care (HMV) and Department of Nursing and Reproductive Health (ORH). She works in the EU-funded RAPHAEL project developing palliative care approaches for heart failure patients across Europe.

Her publications reveal a consistent research trajectory examining the DSM-5 Cultural Formulation Interview's implementation in Swedish psychiatric settings, with recent work expanding into palliative care for cardiovascular patients. Her research combines mixed-method approaches including RCTs, qualitative analysis, and documentation review.
Wallin has extensive practical experience from 15 years managing healthcare and social care units in Stockholm and Östergötland Regions, which informs her implementation-focused research approach. She also serves as a trainer and lecturer at the Transcultural Center in Stockholm Region.
Her educational background includes a PhD in transcultural psychiatry from Karolinska Institutet (defended October 2024), a Master's in Medical Management from Karolinska Institutet, and a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Sciences with Psychology specialization from Stockholm University.
