Malin Arvidson is a Senior Lecturer at Lund University's School of Social Sciences, with a PhD in Sociology (2003). She serves as Associate Professor in the areas of Professions and Organization, and Civil Society and Social Movements, while also contributing to the LU Profile Area: Human Rights.
- Research: Focuses on civil society organizations (CSOs) in social welfare and international development, exploring tensions between organizational values and public/private sector dependencies, accountability frameworks, and elite dynamics within European civil societies.
- Teaching: Course convener of SOPA61 'Organization and Social Work' and SOAN50 'Evaluation Theory and Models', with contributions to lectures on nonprofit evaluation, leadership, and research ethics.
- Projects: Key roles in EU-level elite studies, Sida-funded evaluations of civil society aid in Sub-Saharan Africa, and VR/FAS-funded research on Swedish municipal contractor CSOs.
- Publications: 15+ recent works on civil society elites, accountability mechanisms, and resource dependence in nonprofit organizations, with fieldwork insights from Bangladesh and Sweden.
