Mai Mageed is a Fiction Writer and MFA student at Cornell University, affiliated with the Department of Literatures in English. She holds a B.A. in Literatures in English from New York University as a University Honors Scholar. She received a Fulbright Fellowship to work as an educator in Athens, Greece, and currently serves as an editor for EPOCH Magazine. She teaches undergraduate courses such as ENGL 1183 (FWS: Word and Image) and ENGL 2800 (Creative Writing). Her writing draws inspiration from Wikipedia deep dives, public disputes, and 1980s Europop music.
Academically, her focus lies in creative writing with an emphasis on narrative innovation and interdisciplinary themes. She has been recognized with the Arthur Lynn Andrews Award for her fiction work.
