Mahnaz DEHNAVI

Mahnaz DEHNAVI is a Contract Lecturer in the Department of Asian and North African Studies at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, where she teaches Persian language and related cultural courses. She has been actively involved in teaching and research since 2019, contributing to language education programs and outreach initiatives.

Her research focuses on language teaching, linguistic-cultural contact between Italian and Persian, and the development of innovative teaching methodologies. Key areas include contrastive linguistics, sociolinguistics, and multimedia-based language learning tools.

She earned her PhD in Language Theory and Language Education from Sapienza University of Rome in 2019, following a master’s degree from the University of Rome Tor Vergata and earlier academic work at the University of Tehran. Her doctoral research explored the theoretical and didactic aspects of teaching Italian to Persian speakers.

Mahnaz has participated in significant educational projects, including the DiSCo scholarship (2019–2020) for developing Persian language teaching materials and the POT Project, where she led workshops to promote Persian language studies in Italian high schools. Since 2022, she has directed 'Vaje,' an online Persian language school for Italian speakers.

She has not received any listed scientific awards. Her advising and grant involvement include collaborative research and curriculum development, particularly in language pedagogy and intercultural communication.

She is involved in research laboratories focused on language teaching and cultural dynamics, contributing to projects that bridge academic instruction with public engagement in Persian language and culture.
