Dr. Mahendiran Dharmasivam is a National Breast Cancer Foundation Fellow at the School of Environment and Science, Griffith University. His research focuses on Medicinal Chemistry, Metal Chemistry, and Anticancer Drug Development, with recent work on thiosemicarbazone derivatives and metal complexes targeting breast cancer and drug resistance.

- Designing selenium/sulfur-substituted thiosemicarbazones for reduced off-target toxicity
- Metal complexes (Ru(II), Cu(II), Zn(II)) for ROS-mediated apoptosis and metastasis suppression
- Lysosomal targeting to overcome P-glycoprotein resistance
- Mechanistic studies of NDRG1 as a metastasis suppressor in breast and pancreatic cancer

Collaborations & Facilities: Member of the Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics (2024-present) and Griffith Institute for Drug Discovery (2020-2024). Involved in equipment grants for the Griffith University Open-Access Molecular and Translational Research Hub and ZebraLAB screening platform.
