Dr. Maha Rafi Atal is the Adam Smith Senior Lecturer in Political Economy at the University of Glasgow's School of Social and Political Sciences. Her research examines corporate power dynamics, tracing historical precedents like the East India Company to modern multinational corporations. She holds degrees from the University of Cambridge, Brown University, and Columbia University. Beyond academia, Atal is an award-winning journalist and co-founder of Public Business, a nonprofit focused on corporate accountability.
