Maggie Scotece

Maggie Scotece, JD, serves as a Staff Attorney and Lecturer at Case Western Reserve University's School of Law, affiliated with the Reproductive Rights Law Initiative. She is a prominent abortion advocate, doula, and disability self-advocate with extensive experience in legal activism and community organizing.

• Education: Juris Doctorate from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law (2016); Double Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Italian Studies from Miami University (2012)

Her research and practice focus on reproductive rights litigation, Disability Justice organizing, and movement lawyering strategies. She combines direct legal assistance with civic engagement initiatives to address systemic inequities.

Scotece's collaborative work includes co-founding the Ohio Reproductive Liberty Defense Fund (OH RELIEF) and establishing the Supported Decision Making Network of Ohio. She actively contributes to racial justice organizing, clinic escort programs, and LGBTQ+ advocacy through a disability justice lens.
