Sarah Boonin is Clinical Professor of Law at Suffolk University Law School, serving as Associate Dean for Experiential Learning and Director of Clinical Programs. She oversees nationally ranked clinical programs, externships, and the top-ranked Legal Practice Skills program while teaching in mental health law, legal ethics, and reproductive justice.

Research Focus: Professor Boonin's scholarship centers on mental health and disability law, reproductive justice, and legal ethics. She has designed and teaches Suffolk's Health Law Clinic, where students represent clients in health-law matters including guardianship alternatives, health insurance appeals, medical debt cases, and Social Security disability cases. Her work emphasizes practical legal training through live client practice.

Previously served on the Massachusetts Guardianship Policy Institute Steering Committee and the Supreme Judicial Court's Access to Justice Commission.
Clinical Work: Before joining Suffolk, she spent five years at Harvard Law School's family and domestic violence clinic, launching a medical-legal collaboration with Boston hospitals. She clerked for Justice Judith A. Cowin of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and worked for a national women's rights organization on reproductive health issues.
