Maggie O'Carroll serves as a visiting Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Hunter Centre, Strathclyde University, and as a visiting scholar at the Haydn Green Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Nottingham University. She is Founder and CEO of The Women’s Organisation, an award-winning social enterprise providing research, policy, training, advice, and incubation services to advance women's economic participation through small business creation and social enterprise development.
Her work centers on entrepreneurship ecosystems, women's economic empowerment, SME policy formulation, and social enterprise models. She actively shapes policy frameworks for women's business development at local, national, and international levels through strategic advisory roles.
Her distinguished contributions have earned recognition including:

- Social Leader of the Year
Maggie chairs the Women’s Enterprise Policy Group and serves as Third Sector Lead on National Committees for SME Enterprise Competitiveness and Sustainable Urban Development. As CEO of The Women’s Organisation, she directs a multidisciplinary team implementing programs that bridge research, policy advocacy, and practical business support for underserved entrepreneurs.
