Magdalena Brener is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Forestry, University of Zagreb’s Faculty of Forestry. Her research focuses on plant physiology under environmental stress, particularly drought and phosphorus deficiency in forest trees. She teaches courses such as Botany - Systematics of Plants and contributes to programs like the Master study ‘Close to Nature Forestry.’
Her work examines provenance effects on tree species like common beech and sessile oak, emphasizing growth dynamics, photosynthetic efficiency, and antioxidant responses. She also studies plant diversity in Croatian agroecosystems and invasive species distribution patterns.
Her recent articles (2023–2025) highlight trends in stress physiology, nutrient management, and ecological niche analysis. She collaborates with institutes like the Institute of Ecology and Silviculture and uses facilities such as the Laboratory of Forest Entomology. No awards are listed, but her research impacts sustainable forestry practices and biodiversity conservation.
