Dr. Ida Katičić Bogdan is an Assistant Professor at the University of Zagreb's Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology, Department of Wood Technology. Her work focuses on forest genetics, tree breeding, and conservation of genetic resources. She holds a PhD from 2012 and has been part of the faculty since 2004.
Her research emphasizes genetic diversity in forest species like oak, beech, and cherry, with a particular interest in drought stress responses, phosphorus nutrition, and provenance trials. Key projects include managing clonal seed orchards to preserve genetic resources and improve forest resilience under climate change.
Dr. Bogdan's research spans over two decades, producing over 50 peer-reviewed articles. Her work bridges applied forestry and fundamental genetics, addressing both ecological adaptation and practical tree improvement strategies for sustainable forest management.
