Prof. Dario Baričević is a distinguished professor at the University of Zagreb's Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology, specializing in forest phytocenology and vegetation ecology. He holds a PhD and has served in academic roles from 1995 to present, including assistant professor (2004–2008), associate professor (2008–2012), and full professor (2012–2017) before becoming distinguished professor. His research focuses on forest vegetation dynamics, synecological studies, and sustainable forest management.
He teaches courses such as Phytocenology, Forest Phytocenology, and Application of Phytocenology in Forestry Practice. His work emphasizes biodiversity conservation, vegetation mapping, and the ecological restoration of forest ecosystems. Notable contributions include studies on oak, lime, and beech forests across Croatia, as well as urban tree revitalization and habitat assessments for Natura 2000 priority areas.

His research integrates field studies, remote sensing, and taxonomic analyses to advance understanding of forest ecosystems.
