Magda Pieczka

Dr Magda Pieczka is a Senior Lecturer in Media & Communications at Queen Margaret University (QMU) within the Media, Communication and Performing Arts Division. She serves as Director of the Centre for Dialogue and Public Engagement and is affiliated with the Culture in Society Research Centre.

Her research focuses on the professionalization of communication across industries, dialogue and public engagement, and discourse analysis in policy contexts. She employs critical theory, discourse/narrative analysis, ethnography, and action research methodologies.

Magda leads the MSc Political Communication program and has extensive teaching experience in public relations, communication theory, policy analysis, and research methods. She has held editorial roles at Public Relations Inquiry and the Journal of Communication Management, and contributed to professional accreditation via the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Public Affairs Diploma.

She joined QMU in 2005 after directing Stirling University's MSc Public Relations (Distance Learning) and remains actively involved in research centers and editorial boards internationally.
