Madeline Rupard is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Art at Brigham Young University (BYU), specializing in Studio Art. She holds an MFA in Painting from Pratt Institute (2019) and a BFA in Studio Art from BYU (2016). Previously, she served as a Visiting Professor at BYU from 2020–2021. Her work explores contradictions in the American landscape, blending the suburban with the sublime and the sacred with the mundane.

Research Interests: Rupard’s practice focuses on the American landscape through a lens of movement and contradiction. Her paintings interrogate the interplay between human-made environments and natural sublime elements, examining how spaces like suburbs and ancient landscapes coexist. Influenced by her transcontinental migrations, her work critiques contemporary visual culture.
