Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammet Bülal Tolan is an academic at Bingöl University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Eastern Languages and Literatures. He holds a PhD in Arabic Language and Rhetoric from Atatürk University (2017). Prior to his academic career, he served as a religious officer with the Presidency of Religious Affairs (2003–2010). His teaching includes courses on classical Arabic texts, advanced grammar, and contemporary Arabic literature.

His research focuses on classical and modern Arabic poetry, Sufi literature, and cultural aspects of Arabic texts. He has supervised 11 theses, including studies on Sufi symbolism, Syrian literature post-2015, and the influence of folk tales in historical novels. His publications span refereed journals like Turkish Studies-Language and Literature and RumeliDE, and he has authored books on Arabic literary figures and comparative literature.
Prof. Tolan has presented at international conferences on topics like Mitology in Arabic poetry and has served as a peer reviewer for multiple journals. He also edited volumes on Arabic grammar and literary works.
