Marianne Morange is a Professor of Geography at INALCO, specializing in neoliberal urban governance in African cities. Her work examines the standardization of urban space through Foucauldian governmentality frameworks, focusing on South Africa and Kenya. She combines critical theory with qualitative ethnography (biographical interviews, discourse analysis) to analyze urban political subjectification under neoliberalism.

Methodologically, she pioneers critical spatial ethnography while maintaining editorial roles in Justice Spatiale and Carnets de Géographes.

As co-director of Paris Diderot's DynPED master's track until 2019, she supervised Thania Herrera (Lima housing) and Carole Bignon (Douala land rights). Her current Labex DynamiTe work interrogates urban space production in neoliberal frameworks.
