Léonore's research and practice focus on the political and social dimensions of architecture and urban planning. She emphasizes experimentation as a method for sustainable and sensitive engagement with evolving societal spaces—material, normative, and ideological. Her work bridges theoretical research and concrete architectural projects, particularly exploring the interplay between materials, bodies, and space. She is interested in innovative practices that integrate research into tangible urban and architectural interventions.
She co-founded Studio Nemec (2019) and the Cooperative Architecture Land Initiative (2020), and has practiced architecture from conception to completion at Herzog & de Meuron (Basel, 2015–2019) and through independent projects. Since 2019, she has been a correspondent for Tracés magazine and is frequently invited to serve on competition juries and deliver lectures at institutions such as BSA/FAS, EPFL, HEAD, and Manufacture.
Scientific Awards:
Léonore has not held formal academic grants mentioned in the text, but her teaching and research roles at EPFL, along with her active involvement in public discourse and architectural practice, reflect a strong advisory and intellectual leadership in architectural education and urban experimentation. She integrates pedagogy, research, and practice into a cohesive professional identity.
She is involved in academic and research teams including the ALICE laboratory at EPFL and leads her own initiatives such as Studio Nemec and the Cooperative Architecture Land Initiative, which function as collaborative platforms for architectural and urban experimentation.
