Matthias Heinrich

Matthias Heinrich is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Laboratory of Human-Environmental Relations in Urban Systems (HERUS) and a Lecturer in SSIE - Teaching at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), within the School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering (ENAC). He is actively engaged in research and teaching related to urban systems, energy, and environmental engineering.

His research focuses on the intersection of human practices and residential contexts in the face of climate change. He employs interdisciplinary methods combining data science and social sciences to model residential energy consumption more accurately. His work is particularly relevant to sustainable urban development and policy design.

He is involved in key research projects including Panel Lémanique and UrbanTwin, which aim to understand urban dynamics and energy use through integrated modeling and empirical data.
