Lynne Dommel is a Clinical Instructor and Coordinator of Simulation Education at Saint Joseph's University's Department of Nursing. She holds an MSN in Nursing Education from Walden University (2012), a BSN from Millersville University (1996), and a nursing diploma from the PA College of Health Sciences (1986). Her career spans 22 years in clinical nursing, followed by roles in nurse education and simulation program development. She specializes in creating immersive educational scenarios for nursing students, including physician communication and blood administration simulations. Additionally, she oversees the standardized patient program to enhance clinical training.
Her research interests focus on advancing nursing education through simulation-based learning and fostering holistic care practices. She actively volunteers as a Parish Nurse, providing community health screenings and writing wellness articles for her church. Lynne is a member of professional organizations such as the International Association of Clinical Simulation and Learning and the Nurses Christian Fellowship. She has been nominated for prestigious awards including the PA Florence Nightingale Award (2002) and the Isaac G. Weidman Award.
Lynne contributes to academic governance as Chair of the Awards Committee of Sigma Theta Tau International's Psi Pi Chapter and participates in grants related to simulation education. She balances her professional life with family, music, and community engagement.
