معرفی
Professor Lynn Gladden serves as the Shell Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Cambridge's Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology. She leads the Magnetic Resonance, Terahertz Applications, and Catalysis research groups, focusing on translating measurement technologies to non-medical environments.
Her research spans four primary domains:
- Development of next-generation MR techniques through collaboration with Microsoft Research, utilizing compressed sensing and Bayesian analysis for multi-phase flow imaging
- In-situ catalytic system analysis via solid-state NMR, diffusion studies, and reactor hydrodynamics mapping
- Terahertz spectroscopy applications for pharmaceutical characterization and process analytics using Quantum Cascade Lasers
- Pharmaceutical delivery system optimization through MRI micro-imaging and dissolution profile prediction
Professor Gladden's work bridges fundamental methodology development with industrial applications in chemical engineering and biotechnology, emphasizing portable low-field device translation and computational modeling integration.
Her research group employs diverse methodologies including lattice-Boltzmann simulations, Computational Fluid Dynamics, tapered element oscillatory microbalance techniques, and THz-TDS for carbon laydown analysis.
