Lynn Gillie serves as Professor of Biology within the Division of Mathematics & Natural Science at Elmira College, where she teaches vertebrate physiology, ecology, behavior, and anatomy while mentoring student researchers both on campus and internationally.
Her academic background includes advanced studies at:
- Southern Illinois University Carbondale
- University of Minnesota: Duluth
Dr. Gillie's research program centers on mammal and bird behavior and ecology, with fieldwork conducted across diverse ecosystems including the Elmira College campus, Tanglewood Nature Center, and San Salvador Island in the Bahamas. Her scholarly approach integrates classroom instruction with immersive international experiences through courses like Marine and Island Ecology in the Bahamas, In Darwin's Footsteps in the Galapagos Islands, and Natural and Social History of Australia across multiple regions.
As Elmira College's dedicated Pre-Health Professions Advisor, she provides comprehensive guidance for students pursuing:
