Dr. Carlos Iudica is an Associate Professor of Biology at Susquehanna University, where he also serves as Program Director of GO Galapagos-Ecuador. As an ecologist, his research focuses on vertebrate natural history with specialization in mammalian evolution, systematics, and ecology. His current work emphasizes bat, marsupial, carnivore, and rodent populations in Pennsylvania ecosystems.
Dr. Iudica and his students investigate fundamental ecological relationships through field studies of animal behavior, predator-prey dynamics, and population responses to environmental disturbances. Recent projects have examined barn owl predation patterns, emergence behavior in bats, and morphological variations in small mammals.
His publication record reflects consistent focus on mammal ecology since 2003, with recent work documenting predator-prey interactions in the Galapagos Islands. Research topics demonstrate persistent interest in trophic relationships and anthropogenic impacts on wildlife populations.
He teaches courses including Introduction to Ecology, Systematic Biology, Vertebrate Natural History, and specialized field courses on natural disasters. Dr. Iudica maintains memberships in professional societies including the American Society of Mammalogists, International Federation of Mammalogists, and Pennsylvania Academy of Sciences.
