Lynda Balneaves, RN, PhD, is a Professor and Associate Dean (Research) at the College of Nursing, University of Manitoba. She is also the Director of the Manitoba Centre for Nursing and Health Research (MCNHR), where she supports faculty and graduate students through funding, training, and research development services.
Her research focuses on complementary and integrative health care, particularly in cancer and chronic illness. Key areas include medical and non-medical cannabis use, psychosocial oncology, and shared treatment decision-making. She leads the Complementary Medicine Education and Outcomes (CAMEO) research program and is actively involved in national research networks.
Dr. Balneaves has received multiple awards for her research excellence and public engagement, including the 2023 University of Manitoba Faculty Association’s CAUT Award and the Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Award of Excellence in Research.
