Luz Navarrette is a Part-Time Adjunct Professor at the University of San Francisco School of Education, where she has taught since January 2013. She also teaches ESL at the community college level and previously worked as a secondary English and English Language Development instructor for over a decade.
- Education: EdD in International and Multicultural Education with Second Language Acquisition emphasis (University of San Francisco), MS (Dominican University), BA (Sonoma State University), AA (Santa Rosa Junior College)
Her research focuses on second language acquisition, equity for diverse learners, and sociocultural factors in education, particularly for racially, ethnically, socioeconomically, and linguistically marginalized students. She has extensive expertise in K-12 education, community college education, and TESOL/ESL instruction.
Dr. Navarrette maintains a long-term partnership with Migrant Education through volunteering, teaching, and workshop facilitation. Her work emphasizes inclusive pedagogical frameworks and sociocultural approaches to language learning.
