Luke Annesley

Mr Luke Annesley is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Lead for Music Therapy at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), within the Health and Social Sciences department. He has a dual career as a clinician and academic, with 12 years of experience in the NHS at Oxleas Music Therapy Service working with children and young people.

• Research Focus: Therapeutic stance in music therapy, psychodynamic and improvisational approaches
• Methodologies: Qualitative methods including IPA, thematic analysis, arts-based research, auto-ethnography

Education:

• MRes in Clinical Research (City, University of London, 2017-18) - Distinction
• MPhil in Ethnomusicology (Cambridge University) - Ethnographic study of Gnawa music in Morocco
