Lukas Daum is a Researcher at the Centre for Advanced Study “Access to Cultural Goods in Digital Change” (University of Münster) since May 2024. Previously, he was a Research Assistant at the Chair of Philosophy (2021–2024) and held tutoring roles in Political Theory and Philosophy. His research focuses on Political Philosophy, Applied Ethics, and Aesthetics/Philosophy of Art, with emphasis on digital cultural transformation, media ethics, and cultural heritage accessibility.
Education:
- B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy, University of Münster (2017–2021)
Research Interests: Explores intersections of digital media, cultural policy, and ethical frameworks. Specializes in analyzing digital transformation’s impact on cultural access, particularly through case studies in computer game ethics, museum historiography, and FAIR data practices. Engages with theoretical debates on property rights, cultural ownership, and democratic participation in digital societies.
Teaching & Collaboration: Co-designed seminars on philosophical aesthetics, political theory, and digital culture (e.g., “Philosophy of Video Games,” “Moral Limits of Markets”). Collaborates with Prof. Reinold Schmücker and apl. Prof. Matthias Freise on interdisciplinary projects.
Labs/Teams: Active member of the Kolleg-Forschungsgruppe, contributing to initiatives like the “Re:Set” exhibition on media change and workshops on digital ontologies.
