Lisa-Maria Meier is a Researcher at the Centre for Advanced Study “Access to Cultural Goods in Digital Change” at the University of Münster. Her research focuses on aesthetics, philosophy of art, and the intersection of cultural heritage with digital transformation. She holds a Master of Arts in Philosophy (2024) and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, English Studies, and Educational Sciences (2021), both from the University of Münster. Her master’s thesis, supervised by Prof. Dr. Reinold Schmücker and Dr. Eva-Maria Jung, explored the philosophical concept of shame. She has held positions including Student Assistant at the Centre for Advanced Study and the Philosophy Department, and Teaching Assistant for Philosophical Writing.
Her work engages with digital access frameworks, media change in art history, and ethical dimensions of cultural consumption. She has contributed to exhibitions like Re:Set: From Slide to Database and lectures on topics such as FAIR data principles, digital guestbooks, and counter-narratives in museum history. She is a member of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Philosophie.
Her current research group addresses how digital technologies reshape access to cultural goods, blending philosophical inquiry with practical projects like Droste Digital and analyses of restitution in cultural institutions.
