He has played a key role in shaping clinical standards and training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility.
Rombauts’ research interests center on endometriosis and embryo implantation, with strong emphasis on clinical and translational research. His work spans molecular mechanisms of implantation, biomarker discovery, AI applications in gynaecology, and long-term health outcomes of fertility treatments. He actively contributes to advancing evidence-based care through national guideline development and digital health implementation.
His recent publications reflect a multidisciplinary approach, integrating molecular biology, epidemiology, bioethics, and health policy. Themes include miRNA regulation in endometrial receptivity, cardiovascular risks in ART patients, commercialization of fertility services, and innovative diagnostic tools using AI. These works demonstrate a consistent focus on improving patient outcomes and health system responsiveness.
