Lucy Y. Liu is an Assistant Professor of Music Theory at the School of Music, Texas Tech University, holding a Ph.D. in Music Theory from Indiana University-Bloomington.
Her research centers on Brahms studies, Stravinsky's neoclassicism, Nikolai Medtner's theoretical writings, and tonal analysis—including Formenlehre, rhythmic theory, meter, temporality, and schema theory. She has presented findings at major conferences including the Society for Music Theory, Music Theory Midwest, and the North American Conference on 19th-century Music.
Dr. Liu's scholarly contributions appear in Music Analysis and Schoenberg in Context, reflecting her expertise in historical and analytical musicology.
