معرفی
Lucy Liaw serves as Affiliate Faculty in Biomedical Engineering at the Roux Institute, Northeastern University, and holds a primary appointment as Faculty Scientist III at MaineHealth Institute for Research (MHIR). She maintains additional academic appointments at the University of Maine and Tufts University School of Medicine, actively engaging in graduate teaching and mentorship across these institutions.
Her research centers on cardiometabolic diseases and vascular biology, with emphasis on molecular signaling pathways influencing vascular disease susceptibility. She investigates perivascular adipose tissue interactions with vessel wall cells to determine mechanisms promoting health versus pathology, while leading metabolic network research through a dedicated Center of Biomedical Research Excellence.
Dr. Liaw directs MHIR's Research Training and Education initiatives, collaborating with academic partners to develop biomedical workforce training programs. She mentors students and faculty while overseeing the Center of Biomedical Research Excellence in Metabolic Networks, which focuses on junior investigator development and resource provision for metabolic health research.
She leads a translational research team at MHIR studying cardiometabolic disease mechanisms and directs the Center of Biomedical Research Excellence in Metabolic Networks, which sustains scientific infrastructure for metabolic disease research.
