Dr. Lucy Ella Rose is a Lecturer in Victorian Literature at the University of Surrey’s School of Literature and Languages. She holds a BA, MA, and PhD from the University of Surrey, where she completed her doctoral research on women in 19th-century creative partnerships, supported by the Watts Gallery. Her work focuses on Victorian visual culture, women’s writing, and feminisms, with a particular emphasis on figures like the Rossettis, the Watts, and the De Morgans. Lucy has contributed to archival projects, including transcribing Mary Watts’ diaries for publication.
Her teaching includes courses such as Gothic to Goth, Understanding Drama, and Understanding the Novel (as convenor). She actively supervises doctoral students in Victorian literature, creative partnerships, and related fields.
