Dr. Ella Jeffery is a Lecturer in Creative Writing at Griffith University, an award-winning poet, and Deputy HDR Convenor. Her research explores literary representations of housing crises, rental markets, and domestic spaces in contemporary Australian literature. She holds a Ph.D. from Queensland University of Technology and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Research Focus: Jeffery analyzes themes of unhomeliness, renovation culture, and gothic domesticity in novels and poetry, with grants from the Australia Council and Queensland Writers Fellowship.
Creative Works: Her poetry collection *Dead Bolt* won the Anne Elder Award (2023), examining architectural metaphors for personal and social fragmentation.
