Lucia Reisch

Lucia Reisch serves as the El-Erian Professor of Behavioural Economics and Policy at Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, where she directs the El-Erian Institute of Behavioural Economics and Policy. She is additionally a Professorial Fellow of Queens’ College and member of the Economics and Policy Subject Group.

Professor Reisch specializes in applying behavioural insights to drive societal welfare and sustainable development through individual and organizational change. With over twenty years of policy consulting experience for the EU, World Bank, OECD, and national governments, her work bridges sustainable consumption, production systems, and climate action. She contributes significantly to global policy discourse as a IPCC 6th Assessment Report author.

Professor Reisch leads the YNOT Institute: Data Science for Equity at Queens’ College and serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Consumer Policy. Her policy influence spans founding chair of Germany’s Advisory Council for Consumer Affairs (2014-2018), membership on the German Council for Sustainable Development (2010-2019), and advisory roles for Chancellor Angela Merkel’s scientific committees. Current research examines behavioural nudges for food waste reduction and urban climate action frameworks.
