Luana RIZZO

Luana Rizzo is a Professor of History of Renaissance Philosophy at the University of Salento, Department of Humanistic Studies. Her academic roles include membership in the Steering Committee of the Research Center on the Aristotelian Tradition (15th-16th centuries), coordinator of internship relations with companies, and leader of the Social Parties Group for the Philosophy Degree Course. She is also a key figure in university initiatives like placement programs and the 'Territorial Employment Pacts' project.

Her research focuses on Renaissance philosophical thought, particularly the works of figures like Marsilio Ficino and Matteo Tafuri, with emphasis on Hermeticism, astrology, and the Neoplatonic tradition in Southern Italy. She has edited critical editions of historical texts and published extensively on topics like medieval Stoicism, interreligious dialogue, and the intersection of philosophy with science and medicine in the Renaissance.

Rizzo’s contributions include organizing major academic projects like the Samsung Innovation Campus and Medtronic Know Hub initiatives. Her work bridges historical scholarship with contemporary interdisciplinary studies, reflecting her commitment to both academic rigor and public engagement through teaching and institutional leadership.
