Sokratis-Athanasios Kiosoglou is a Researcher at the Wulf Mansion Centre for Ancient, Medieval, and Renaissance Philosophy at KU Leuven. His work focuses on Neoplatonism, ancient and medieval metaphysics, and the reception of Proclus' philosophical methodologies. He has authored and co-edited works on topics such as the Elements of Theology, Part-Whole relationships in antiquity, and the influence of Neoplatonic thought on medieval philosophers like Ficino and Grosseteste. His research bridges ancient philosophy with later traditions, emphasizing axiomatic methods and ontological debates.
Research Interests include Proclus' systematic approach, Neoplatonic theology, Aristotelian interpretations in late antiquity, and the transmission of philosophical texts across eras. Recent work explores Ficino's use of Proclean principles in understanding the soul and the methodological strategies in Proclus' writings.
He actively participates in academic conferences and publishes in journals such as Philosophies and Méthexis. He has co-edited special issues on Part and Whole in Antiquity and contributed to volumes on Neoplatonic thought across faith communities.
