Dr Louise Gascoine is an Associate Professor in the School of Education at Durham University, affiliated with the Durham University Evidence Centre for Education and the Centre for Neurodiversity and Development. She holds a UKCP registration as a psychotherapist and integrates psychotherapeutic principles into her research and teaching. Her research focuses on metacognition, mental health, wellbeing, and the intersection of educational and psychotherapeutic practices. Key projects include leading the EEF-funded ReflectED evaluation (2017–2022), which assessed a metacognition-focused intervention in primary schools. She has extensive experience in systematic reviews and qualitative evidence synthesis, serving as an Associate Editor for the Campbell Education Co-ordinating Group.
