Louise Foley is a Research Fellow at the University of Limerick's School of Allied Health, funded by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland through the ISCycle2 project. She holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Galway (2018–2022), a Master's in Health Psychology from the University of St Andrews (2017–2018), and a Bachelor's in Applied Psychology from University College Cork (2014–2017). Her research focuses on health psychology, medication adherence in multimorbidity, and sustainable mobility initiatives, particularly exploring ebike adoption among marginalized groups. She collaborates with community partners to design equitable active mobility interventions.
Her work addresses UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health equity and sustainable cities. Recent studies include analyzing healthcare prioritization under financial strain, factors influencing digital cardiac rehabilitation implementation, and embedding patient involvement in PhD training programs. Louise emphasizes participatory approaches to ensure policies address the needs of underserved populations.
Her articles span topics like medication adherence narratives, the role of ebikes in sustainable transport, and the economic implications of multimorbidity. She has collaborated with interdisciplinary teams across Ireland and internationally, contributing to both academic and policy-oriented publications.
