Christine Fitzgerald is a Researcher at the University of Limerick's School of Allied Health, affiliated with the Ageing Research Centre. Her work focuses on health services research, geriatric care, and multi-stakeholder engagement, particularly in frailty management and emergency care transitions. She holds a PhD in Health Promotion from the National University of Ireland, Galway, an MA in Health Promotion, and a BSc in Nursing from the University of Limerick.
Her research interests include service evaluation, user experiences, and integrated care models for older adults. Notable projects include the ED PLUS intervention and the Community Specialist Teams (CST-OP) study. Her work addresses barriers to implementing exercise programs for osteoarthritis and advancing home-based geriatric assessments through systematic reviews.
Dr. Fitzgerald collaborates on international studies and contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health equity and well-being. Her findings have been published in journals like Clinical Interventions in Aging and Journal of the American Geriatrics Society.
