Louis Kamus

Louis Kamus is an Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Université de Montréal. He leads the Equine Surgery service at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vétérinaire (CHUV) and specializes in surgical innovations for large animals, particularly horses. His expertise spans equine orthopedics, wound management, and thoracic surgery.

Education:

Research Focus: Dr. Kamus investigates surgical techniques, wound microbiology, and equine-specific therapies. Recent work includes corticosteroid effects on osteoclast activity and NPWT device feasibility for equine wounds.

Labs/Teams: Leads CHUV’s Equine Surgery team and collaborates with researchers on innovative surgical tools and microbiological studies.
