معرفی
Louis Gaboury is a Full Professor at the University of Montréal’s Faculty of Medicine, Department of Pathology and Cellular Biology. He serves on the University’s administrative board and directs the histology and molecular pathology platform at IRIC (Institut de recherche en immunologie et en cancérologie). His research focuses on experimental pathology, particularly breast cancer biology, biomarker discovery, and molecular mechanisms of cancer progression. Key interests include HER2 expression, tumor metastasis, and therapeutic targeting of cancer microenvironments.
Education: PhD in Experimental Pathology from UBC, postdoctoral training at UBC and IRCM. Awards include the 1998-1999 Excellence in Teaching Award and Quebec Science’s 2016 Discovery of the Year Prize. He has supervised over 20 graduate students and led major projects funded by CQDM, CIHR, and others. His work bridges basic research and clinical applications, emphasizing translational oncology and diagnostic innovations.
- Key Projects: Development of magnetic drug delivery systems for liver cancer, immunoplasmonics for cancer diagnostics, and biomarker discovery for breast cancer recurrence.
- Labs/Teams: IRIC, CHUM Research Center, and collaborative networks in molecular oncology.
