Ohio State Universityمعرفی
Louis Franklin DiMauro is the Dr. Edward E. and Sylvia Hagenlocker Chair/Professor in the Department of Physics at The Ohio State University (OSU), part of the College of Arts and Sciences. He leads the Agostini-DiMauro Atomic Physics Research Group, focusing on ultra-fast and strong-field atomic physics, particularly attosecond phenomena. His research explores interactions between atoms and intense laser pulses, with applications in next-generation technologies like quantum computing.
Education: B.S. in Chemistry from Hunter College (CUNY, 1975), Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Connecticut (1980).
Research interests include attosecond physics (e.g., high-harmonic generation), strong-field physics (e.g., Keldysh-scaled systems), and ultra-fast optical technology (e.g., laser pulse compression). His work is supported by the Department of Energy, National Science Foundation, and Air Force Office of Scientific Research.
Awards include the 2013 OSA Meggers Award and Fellowships from APS, OSA, and AAAS. He collaborates with institutions like Louisiana State University, Stanford PULSE Institute, and SLAC National Laboratory. His lab hosts advanced facilities, including the Quantum Trajectory Selector and Atto Beamline systems.
