Lotte Steuten serves as Affiliate Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy and Deputy Chief Executive at the Office of Health Economics (OHE) in London. She maintains dual affiliations as an associate member at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and CHOICE Affiliate Faculty within the Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research and Policy Program.
Her educational foundation includes:
- BS in Health Sciences from the Department of Health Sciences, Maastricht University
- MSc in Health Science Research from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Maastricht University
- PhD in Economic Evaluation of Disease Management Programs from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Maastricht University
Dr. Steuten specializes in developing quantitative Bayesian methodologies for health economic evaluations, with emphasis on optimizing cancer prevention and treatment interventions. Her research integrates decision-analytic modeling to accelerate patient access to high-value diagnostic and therapeutic innovations while prioritizing efficient evidence generation for emerging medical technologies.
She directs educational programs including the Health Sciences BSc and MSc at the University of Twente, and teaches advanced courses in Health Technology Assessment, Decision Analytic Modeling, and Economic Evaluation across institutions including the University of Washington (PHARM 534/536), Maastricht University, and Brunel University. Her academic service focuses on medical device economics, including integrating health economics into product development cycles and evaluating transferability of economic assessments.
